18th Edition Training and Assessment Overview
Everyone working as an electrician requires the 18th Edition qualification. All installations designed from January 2019 onwards must comply with the new regulations. However, not all electricians need to complete the assessment at the same time:
  • If you are working on public-sector contracts, you will need to take and pass the assessment from January 2019.
  • If you are a member of a scheme such as the NICEIC, ELECSA, STROMA, NAPIT or others, you will need to take and pass the assessment before you next renew your membership.
  • If you are registered with the JIB ECS check system, you will need to take and pass the assessment by a date that JIB ECS will confirm to you.

 

Course Objectives

To provide essential underpinning knowledge on the requirements of the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671-2022 – 18th Edition

Course Duration

4 Day Training Course – Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 16:30

Course Content

Our content will follow the C&G 2382-22 syllabus and include:-

  • Introduction to the 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671
  • Scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671
  • Definitions used within BS7671
  • Requirements of protection for safety for electrical installations
  • Requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations
  • Requirements of Inspection and testing of electrical installations
  • Requirements of Special installations or locations as identified in BS7671
  • Requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical
  • Protection against over-voltages
  • Protection against fire
  • Electrical Embedded heating
  • Energy efficiency
  • All updates in the 18th edition

If any further changes are made to the new edition we will of course include these in the training.

Entry Requirements

This qualifiation is aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and knowledge of electrical installations. It may also be taken by other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enahcne thier understanding ot IET Wiring Regulations. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). Candidates must be over 16 years of age.

You will need a copy of BS7671 – 18th Edition & On Site Guide for the course. You can purchase these yourself, or we sell them.

Final day of the course – 2 Hour, GOLA (Global On-Line Assessment) Multiple Choice Assessment 60 Questions
