Course Objectives

To provide essential knowledge of the in-service inspection & Testing of portable electrical equipment. The course follows the City & Guilds 2377 Scheme and includes the City and Guilds multiple-choice examination.

Course Content

Content to follow the C & G 2377-22 syllabus to include:-

  • Understand the statutory and non-statutory requirements relevant to the management of electrical equipment maintenance
  • Understand the electrical units of measurement associated with in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment
  • Understand how equipment construction and classification reduced the risk of electric shock
  • Understand the procedures for the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment
  • Understand how to carry out combined inspection and testing
  • Understand the information contained ion documentation in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment
Who should attend?

These qualifications are aimed at those responsible for the maintenance of electrical equipment and for those undertaking practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

It also allows those with an administrative responsibility for the testing and inspection of electrical equipment to gain a qualification suitable to their job role.

Final Online Multiple Choice Assessment 50 Questions, 1 hour 40 minutes and practical assessment

Course Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. Candidates should have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification. It is expected candidates attempting the qualification should be familiar with electrical systems and hazards of electricity. Not suitable for persons under the age of 18.
